Red Wines To Savor

Sasso Rosso from Camposasso, San Polo in Chianti

Sasso Rosso is produced by Rebecca and Pierre, the owners of Campoasso in Tuscany. On the label, you won’t find the usual vintage details, grape varieties, winemaking methods, or tasting notes., so it all feels like big Tuscan secret, You can taste the love, knowledge and passion. Sasso Rosso is silky, smooth, and full of character. Every time I’ve given it as a gift, people ask me where I got the bottle.

Rosso Di Montalcino from Poggio antico, Montalcino.

I’ve visited the beautiful Poggio Antico winery several times—on a clear day, from its high elevation, you can even see the ocean. Poggio Antico Rosso di Montalcino is a elegant Sangiovese with notes of cherry. Often called the “baby brother” of Brunello, it’s made from the same grape but is fresh, smooth, and ready to drink.

Chianti Classico from Le Lame, San Casciano Val Di Pesa

A vibrant Sangiovese from a passionate small producer, my friend Mario Zanobini. Ready to enjoy. Juicy red fruit and smooth tannins make it a wine to savor with friends — a true taste of tradition and local charm. Mario also runs an epic wine bar in Florence, a favorite among locals where you can rub elbows with the city’s wine-loving crowd.
